Cadenhead’s Highland Park 1989
Rare Bottling of Cadenheads, Highland Park 11 Year Old. Distilled 1989. Cask Strength 56.8 % Vol. The company has been founded in 1842 by William Cadenhead and is the oldest independent bottler in Scotland.
An eventful story, like it often happens in business world, with good and bad strategic decisions marked the evolution of the brand from its foundation until the death of William Cadenhead on december 11th, 1904.
The depression years during the 1930’s have also marked the company, and its results were not constantly very good, but the firm survived.
In the early 1970’s, it has been taken over by the Mitchell’s family, owner of the Springbank distillery .
The first independent bottlings of Cadenhead’s date back to the victorian era. A rather long experience of one and a half century, and a bottling policy excluding all coloration and never using chill filtering. The bottlings are always at cask strength.
