Rutherford Hill Reserve Napa Valley Merlot 1997
The 1997 Merlot is made from a most careful selection of grapes from Napa Valley’s premium vineyard areas. Following extensive tastings of the various vineyards lot, a final assemblage was determined to capture optimum complexity and concentration of fruit. The result is a wine of intense blackberry and tobacco notes which are supported by vanilla and spice from new French oak. While enjoyable now, it will benefit from a half dozen years or more of cellaring.
